On November 7th, the Leader Forum Chapter 2 event, titled Journey of Resilience – A Teacher’s Path to Leadership, was held as part of the Women’s Language Empowerment Network (WLEN) project, belonging to Catalyst for Change (C4C) Vietnam. The Leader Forum is a monthly online gathering created to offer a space for women-led language centers to connect, exchange experiences, and enhance their knowledge in important areas like leadership, intercultural communication, global citizenship, and center management. With the main goal is to build a supportive community of empowered women leaders who can drive the growth of language education and cultural exchange in Vietnam, the last event gathered representatives from Gotoco, WLEN members, international volunteers, and Vietnamese female educators, leaders to share stories and openly discuss all related concerns.

The Leader Forum #2 is highlighted with a special attendance of Ms Thao Trinh, an enthusiastic English teacher and single mother. She shared her personal resilient journey and aspiration in pursuing her dream of opening her own language center and the hurdles she has encountered as a single mother in Vietnam. Throughout her inspiring and challenging journey, Ms Hong Tang, also known as founder of C4C Vietnam, plays a critical role in supporting her with mentorship, resources, and community connections, helping her move closer to her goal.

The heart of the Leader Forum is always the Discussion session when all attendees have the chance to ask questions and engage in a lively discussion. Gotoco representatives and WLEN members shared their own experiences, offered each other support, dispersed advice, and encouragement. This part of the event helped foster a collaborative environment and everyone could learn from each other and feel empowered to continue pursuing their educational goals.

The Leader Forum #2 was a reminder of the strength, determination, and vision that women educators and women as a whole contribute to their communities. On top of that, organisations, like C4C, play an incredible role in empowering women to become not only leaders in their own lives, but also leaders in education. As these dedicated educators continue their journeys, C4C remains committed to helping them achieve their full potential and incentivize more women to take on leadership roles, shaping the bright future of education in Vietnam.

We would like to sincerely express our gratitude to all our supportive participants, and especially to our amazing team behind the success of this forum. We are excited for the promising next chapter of the Leader Forum in December, where we will dive deeper into inspiring discussions, spark new ideas, and continue building a vibrant community of empowered leaders.
