OUR TEAM

OUR STORY

Through numerous conversations and engagements with single mothers and women from vulnerable communities, it became evident that their primary needs extended beyond just financial support. They yearned for empowerment, a sense of purpose, and the ability to provide a stable future for their children. The problem was not just their economic instability but also the lack of sustainable opportunities and mental health support.

Catalyst For Change Vietnam defined its mission around these core insights, building a network thriving for empowerment, long lasting change and community engagement.

Ms. HONG TANG

When Ms. Hong Tang founded Coins for Change Vietnam in 2015, she was driven by personal experiences of discrimination and societal stigma. As a woman educated in tourism and cultural studies, she faced challenges integrating into the workforce, where gender bias often overshadowed her qualifications. These obstacles were exacerbated when she became a single mother, encountering increased marginalisation within Vietnamese society.

Fully aware of the limited support available to women in similar situations and inspired by the stories of other single mothers, she recognised the need for change.

Driven by her own experiences and a desire to make a difference, Hong established Coins for Change Vietnam as a platform for positive social change, where women could thrive and contribute to the development of their country.

Thank You!
